Founded in 1994, HV Power is a privately held technology company providing superior products and hands-on support to power utility companies, their engineering consultants and contractors. It has grown to over 50 employees with offices in Auckland and Wellington and staff also working in other locations such as Melbourne and Brisbane.

Our range of intelligent electronic devices includes:

• protective relaying
• substation automation
• transformer tap changer
• temperature controls.

We're also involved in:

• time sychronisation
• power quality monitoring
• electrical metering products
• transformer DGA monitoring
• providing primary and secondary medium-voltage distribution equipment (such as circuit breakers and ring main units).

The HV Power team has many years of industry experience and knowledge of how to apply the various technologies and products we supply. For example, we provided the first IEC 61850-based substation automation systems in Australasia in early 2005. More recently, we've worked with customers using cellular technology for remote control of ring main units. Our people often work with utilities to develop network standards and commissioning training to roll out the new technologies.

We pride ourselves on fully understanding the applications, product specifications, settings and operation of all our products. Our team at HV Power won't sell a product until we are confident that it does what it claims, and that we can fully support it - locally.
